Channing Justice
Afghanistan Refugees Resettlement
Channing Memorial Church, in partnership with the Luminus Network for New Americans and the Afghan Alliance for Maryland is helping Afghan refugees integrate into our community.

You have two opportunities:

-
So far, we have provided a refugee family that lives in North Bethesda with furniture and other household items as well as with assistance in learning to drive and other personal tasks. See opportunities below.
-
You also have an opportunity to help the larger Afghan refugee community. The Supplemental Nutritional Assistance Program (SNAP) helps refugee families to buy food. But SNAP does not help with the purchase of other essential household items, particularly toiletries. See opportunities below.

Storing Furniture For a Refugee Family
Anticipating the needs of a refugee family, we've started storing furniture. We've rented a storage unit and you will have the opportunity to participate financially by helping to pay the rent of the unit. Details will follow.
